Torah Pointer-Yad (about 3 inches long with chain). The Yad (Hebrew for hand) was a pointer for reading the Torah. You were not to touch the scrolls, so a pointer was used. The end of the pointer is shaped like a hand with index finger extended. A chain attached to the other end to drape over the Torah when put away.
