Nippur Map Recreation resin cast about 9.5 by 7.5 inches. Earliest known map to scale about 1300 BC. This tablet was discovered during the Hilbrecht excavation of the ruins of ancient Nippur in 1899 AD. It is now in the Hilprecht Collection in the Friedrich-Schiller University in Germany. The tablet shows the Ziggurat of Enlil on the right edge. The river Euphrates is on the left, and a canal running through the center of the city.
