Baboon: Animal form of Thoth Replica (resin cast painted gold). Thoth was the Egyptian god of wisdom, the heart which was the seat of intelligence (also related to the logos of Plato). He is depicted as a man with the head of a baboon or ibis. His main temple was in the city of Khmun later called Hermopolis Magnus (Hermes). Thoth was the deification of the moon which was the eye of Horus. He is also the founder of scribes and is shown in the judgment scenes recording the results. The statue is about 4 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches wide.
