Nathan-Melech Seal & Impression Recreation

Nathan-Melech Seal & Impression Recreation
Nathan-Melech Seal & Impression Recreation is resin cast about 1.5 inches by 1 inch. The seal impression says, belonging to "Nathan-king, servant of the king." This 2,600-year-old inscription was recently discovered in the City of David’s Givati Parking Lot excavation. The seal impression is written in Paleo-Hebrew from the late 8th century BC. The name Nathan-Melech appears once in the Bible, in II Kings 23:11. An official in the court of King Josiah, the biblical Nathan-Melech took part in implementation of widespread religious reform: “And he took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entrance of the house of the Lord, by the chamber of Nathan-Melech the officer, which was in the precincts; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.” The set comes with the seal and impression.
