Herodium Model is resin cast about 12 inches wide by 13.5 inches long by 4.5 inches tall. Herod the Great built a palace fortress called Herodium between 24 and 15 BC. Herod the Great was buried here. It is the highest peak in the Judaean Desert. It is described by Josephus in Antiquities of the Jews XIV, 13.9. It was destroyed by the Romans in 71 AD. It was later used by Bar Kokhba as a secondary headquarters.
