Susa Kudurru Stone Recreation ( resin half cast, about 8 by 4 inches). Dates to the 12th century BC. Kudurru was a boundary stone. This stone shows how they viewed the universe. A serpent-dragon encircles the the foundation of the world. Another serpent encircles the top. The serpents may represent the upper and lower oceans. Under the top serpent are the constellations which represent gods. Below this is the earth with people marching with musical instruments. The tall wall below this is the city of the nether world. Note the one tall tower is a pillar that holds up the earth.
